The player reprises their role as the nameless Hero from the original Two Worlds. This enabled the developers to expand the narrative even further, and a more sophisticated engine, GRACE™, was created to develop the game. However, it quickly grew much larger than originally intended, and it became a full-fledged sequel. Two Worlds II began as Two Worlds: The Temptation, which was to be the second expansion to the first game.
